SRI LANKA LUXURY BEACH / CULTURE TOUR (7 days /6 nights)
Day 1 : Day 1: From the airport proceed to Dambulla. En route visit Elephant Orphanage at Pinnawala. Visit Dambulla cave temple: Like Sigiriya, Dambulla is a vast isolated rock mass, which houses a rock temple (formerly caves). Some of its frescoes are over 2,000 years old – and there is a colossal figure of the recumbent Buddha caved out of the rock, some 14 meters long.
Overnight at a top reviewed luxury hotel in Sigiriya.
Day 2 : After breakfast visit Sigiriya: This rock fortress was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare, was the site of the old palace – the outer wall of which was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO-sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya’s 5th century Water Gardens to be former glory. In the afternoon sightseeing of the ancient city of Polonnaruwa (10th-12th century A.D). You will visit the modern museum, the Parakrama Samudra (gigantic reservoir made by king Parakrama the Great), Statue of King Parakrama, the Library Shrine, Palace of King Parakrama, the Kumara Pokuna (pond used by royal family with the water flowing system), the Shiva temple, the Thuparama shrine room with its glittering statues, the Alahana Monastery Complex, the Gal Vihare (a master peace of stone carving), the Lotus Pond and a traditional wood carving factory. After your afternoon tea you will proceed to Kandy. En route visit a spice garden and a batik factory in Matale. In the evening watch a cultural performance by traditional Kandyan Dancers and drummers.
Overnight stay at a top reviewed luxury hotel in Kandy.
Day 3 : After breakfast visit Kandy city: Sri Lanka’s hill capital is, perhaps, its most beautiful town. It is 488 meters above sea level and Sri Lanka’s most visited place. The focal point of the town is the golden-roofed Dalada Maligawa, where the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha is enshrined.
In the afternoon you will enjoy a picturesque drive through Sri Lanka's hill country . En route visit a tea factory and a plantation . In the afternoon you will reach Nuwara Eliya (the so-called Little England) with its colonial hotels, the race course and golf courses.

Day 4 : Early morning train ride to the highest tea village in Sri Lanka, Ella. First watch the magnificent views of Ella valley and the Rawana water falls, followed by a hike to Little Adams Peak. After a stop at the Wellawaya Pottery Manufactory you will continue to the Yala National Park.

The park is also home to a large herd of almost 100 elephants who roam free amongst the colossal 1259 sq. km expanse of the park. Yala National park’s landscape includes dense jungle, lagoons, water holes, streams, and open parklands, and it even backs on to the sea, providing excellent ocean views. After safari you will drive along beautiful beaches with the opportunity to stop wherever you like to take dip.You will visit the blow hole in Dickwella, fishing village in Weligama and watch the famous stilt fisherman in Ahangama before proceeding to Unawatuna.

The Dutch presence is still visible in Galle, and should you want to retrace the footsteps of the Dutch rule, let our guide give you the tour of the old Dutch fort (a UNESCO World Heritage site), the Dutch Government House, the former New Oriental Hotel (built in 1684), the old bell tower, and the Dutch tide-based sewage system.
